TECHNOLOGY IN THE INITIAL TRAINING OF PEDAGOGY STUDENTSinitial teacher education. technologies. educationThe present work originated from a master’s degree research and aims to analyze the initial
training of future pedagogues in relation to technology to understand how it is considered in the
academic environment and how it is offered or not in the curriculum of the Pedagogy course at
a private university in the city of Porto Alegre. It seems relevant to carry out a study that seeks
to identify the role of technology in the initial training of these students to understand their
perceptions on the subject and delve deeper into this concept. The arguments defended consist
of focusing on technology at the service of learning and linking it to the historical context,
exploring the so-called “Technological Era”, which reflects the reality of society in different
times and spaces, without reducing the discussion to current times and perceptions techniques.
In view of this, it was realized that technological advances have always been part of humanity,
and understanding how they affect academic training is important. Thus, the data collected in a
qualitative way was analyzed, through bibliographic and documentary methodology, and it was
noted that the institution benefits in its new curriculum from the application to extend the
potential of technology in the academic training of new Education professionals, promoting a
more assertive and efficient use of the technological resources available and applicable in
practice. The challenge then presents itself in the question of the applicability of knowledge in
their profession and the involvement of students in developing the skills necessary for the
demands, as well as the adequacy of schools to continue motivating and investing in the
continued training of these professionals. Keywords: initial teacher training; technologies;
