The Use and Contributions of Design in the Development of Digital Educational Game Interfaces for Children
Digital educational games, visual design, interface design, UX for kids.
This research aims to investigate the impact of the visual design of Digital Educational Games (DEGs) interfaces on the engagement and motivation of children. Game-based learning is recognized as an engaging and effective approach, leveraging students' intrinsic motivation and aligning with contemporary learning styles. However, for a game to be classified as educational, it must have clear pedagogical objectives and be embedded within an appropriate methodological context. Interface design plays a crucial role in this process, as an intuitive and well-designed interface facilitates interaction, discovery, and learning. The results of this research will contribute to the creation of an educational product in the form of a guide, aimed at supporting the development of DEGs interfaces that enhance student engagement and motivation in school subjects.
