SUMMARY:

This research aims to investigate the potentialities and challenges for information literacy in the context of Professional and Technological Education (EPT) based on the mapping of students' prior knowledge and using audiovisual resources as a teaching strategy aiming at comprehensive human development. The research seeks to contribute to the construction of emancipatory pedagogical practices, aligned with the principles of professional and technological education, with a focus on promoting students' critical autonomy. The main topics covered include information literacy, libraries of Federal Institutes, professional and technological education, integrated high school education, and pedagogical practices in an open network. In methodological terms, the study will have a qualitative approach, of an applied nature and exploratory character, being structured in three methodological stages: (1) bibliographic review, with emphasis on dissertations of the Professional Master's Degree in Professional and Technological Education (PROFEPT), covering the period from 2008 to 2024; (2) documentary research, which maps documents related to information literacy in the libraries of the Federal Institutes; and (3) field research, with the application of questionnaires to students and teachers of Integrated High School. The analysis of the data will provide support for the creation of an educational resource, in audiovisual format, focused on the information literacy of students, but also accessible to the internal and external community of IFRS. The final product aims to promote inclusive access to education and strengthen emancipatory pedagogical practices in the context of professional and technological education.
