PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION AND YOUTH PROTAGONISM: TOWARDS AN INTEGRATED CURRICULUM FOR FULL-TIME SECONDARY EDUCATION IN THE STATE NETWORK OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL

SUMMARY:

This research project is being developed as part of the Professional Master's Degree in Professional and Technological Education, which is part of the Graduate Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT) at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS). It is linked to the research line Organization and Memories of Pedagogical Spaces in Professional and Technological Education (EPT) and belongs to the Macroproject Organization of pedagogical spaces in EPT. It is based on the assumption that there is no way to think about EFA without reflecting on the perspectives of youth protagonism, considering integral human formation and the world of work. To this end, it is necessary to reorganize educational institutions in view of the current moment marked by technological transformations that integrate all spaces and times, adopting innovative actions and redesigning curricula integrating the dimensions of teaching, research and extension in the context of work, science, culture and technology. With this in mind, this research project seeks to understand the principles of professional and technological education and the possibility of developing youth protagonism, pointing out guidelines for the organization of an integrated curriculum for full-time secondary education (EMTI) in the light of the conditions of the state public network in Rio Grande do Sul. This is a qualitative, applied study with an exploratory and descriptive dimension. Document analysis, bibliographic and field research will be used, related to the development of an educational product, based on the collection and analysis of data and the interlocution maintained with the knowledge derived from the theoretical and methodological basis. To this end, 40% of the total number of students enrolled in each EMTI class will be involved, totaling 56 respondents, who will be chosen at random and will answer a questionnaire with open and closed questions, using a form produced in the google forms tool. In addition, 18 teachers from the different areas of knowledge who work at EMTI and 5 managers from a state school in Rio Grande do Sul, located in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, will also take part and answer a questionnaire in the same way as the students. The aim of this research is to contribute to the construction of an integrated curriculum at EMTI, directing teaching practices towards ethical training, the development of students' intellectual autonomy and critical thinking, taking into account the transformations in the world of work. This research project could contribute to the researcher's academic training, as it will provide support for the production of the dissertation and the educational product that is part of the course she is taking, as well as expanding the principles of EFA to the state public schools in Rio Grande do Sul, and helping young people to have access to quality education.
