SUMMARY:

This research project, developed within the scope of the Professional Master's Program in Vocational and Technological Education (ProfEPT), is part of the research line "Educational Practices in Vocational and Technological Education (VTE)" and of Macroproject 1 – "Methodological Proposals and Teaching Resources in Formal and Non-Formal Educational Spaces in VTE." The objective is to investigate how a communication project can strengthen the bond between the community and the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul – Farroupilha Campus, by enhancing the dissemination of scientific, technological, and educational knowledge produced within the scope of VTE. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with an applied nature and exploratory character, and is classified as field research. Data collection instruments will include structured questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, document analysis, and participant observation. The study will involve participants from both the internal and external communities of the institution, allowing for a situated analysis of the communication strategies in use, perceptions of the institutional image, and the meanings attributed to science communication actions. The data will be analyzed through Thematic Categorical Analysis (TCA), in articulation with the theoretical framework of the research. Preliminary findings will inform the development of two educational products: (1) an event for scientific, technological, and cultural dissemination, conceived as a space for listening, mediation, and recognition of formative practices in VTE; and (2) a practical guide for organizing events in public educational institutions, offering systematized methodological guidelines with replicability potential. Both products will be evaluated and implemented in the final stage of the research. The originality of this proposal lies in the articulation between institutional communication, science education, and public visibility strategies, with a focus on building democratic communicative ecosystems, fostering citizenship education, and strengthening the social role of Federal Institutes.
