WORK, EDUCATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY: MEMORY AND HISTORY OF THE ARTICULATING AXIS ETHICS, CITIZENSHIP, HUMAN RIGHTS AND PUBLIC SAFETY AS A NEW PARADIGM IN THE EDUCATION OF MUNICIPAL GUARDS IN RS

Human Rights.This work is a qualitative research and presents the research project carried out for the stricto sensu postgraduate course, offered in a network by the Postgraduate Program in Professional and Technological Education (PROFEPT), linked to the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education (RFEPCT), in the research line Organization and Memory of Pedagogical Spaces in Professional and Technological Education (OMEPEPT). The project is linked to Macroproject 4: History and Memories in the Context of Professional and Technological Education (EPT). The research aims to analyze the historical, social and political paths of the emergence of the articulating axis: Ethics, Citizenship, Human Rights and Public Safety in the curricula of the Municipal Guards of Novo Hamburgo and São Leopoldo, based on the memories of the teachers of these disciplines regarding the importance of these themes, and the openness and institutional support for the theme. In this sense, I seek to demarcate the socio-historical processes through which professional education in public safety has developed, in the respective institutions, over time. The proposal of the work is also to develop a product, within the EPT Organization and Memories Line, based on the data obtained during the research in order to record the history and memories of the disciplines of the articulating axis, seeking to contribute to its consolidation.
