This research, conducted within the Professional Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT), is part of Research Line 2 – "Organization and Memory of Pedagogical Spaces in Professional and Technological Education" and Macroproject 6 – "Organization of Pedagogical Spaces in PTE". The study focuses on Black youth enrolled in subsequent technical courses at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre Campus (IFRS/POA), through racial quota policies established by Law No. 12.711/2012 and updated by Law No. 14.723/2023. This research seeks to answer the following question: what institutional conditions allow Black students to access, remain, and succeed in subsequent technical education courses? The main objective is to analyze the factors that influence access, retention, and graduation of these students within the context of Professional and Technological Education, with emphasis on the racial quota system. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques, using participant procedures and data collection. Data will be obtained from the COPPID, the Academic Records Department, and national platforms such as Sistec/MEC and INEP. Black students enrolled in the institution will be invited to complete a questionnaire and participate in interviews to share their experiences regarding the admission process and institutional support. The research will investigate aspects such as quota fulfillment, enrollment rates after selection, institutional support, and the operation of the hetero-identification committee. Based on the analysis, an Educational Product will be developed to contribute to the strengthening of racial inclusion policies at IFRS.
