This document is a pre-research project for the Professional Master's Degree in Professional and Technological Education - ProfEPT, and aims to clearly present effective strategies to integrated high school teachers at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) so that they can build, in their classes, an inclusive scenario based on the guidelines of the Universal Design for Learning (DUA), where students with specific educational needs are able to participate in classes in an equitable way and with equal rights. We know that since the Federal Constitution of 1988 it has been a “Fundamental Right” to guarantee access and permanence of people with specific needs in regular education. Article 208 provides that the State's duty to education will be carried out by guaranteeing specialized educational assistance to people with disabilities, preferably in the regular education network (Brasil, 1988). And, Law No. 13,146, the Brazilian Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, in its chapter IV, deals with the right to education (Brazil, 2015). Taking these rights as a guide, this research proposes to present effective strategies in order to support IFRS integrated high school teachers to guarantee these rights, allowing the construction of a favorable scenario for students with specific educational needs, as the IFRS campuses have accessible Selection Processes and with quotas for people with disabilities, a Service Center for People with Specific Educational Needs (one on each campus), the Accessibility Technological Center, among others, favoring the entry of these students. On the other hand, it is clear that preparing teachers to receive these students, with adequate content and strategies so that they can remain and successfully complete the intended courses, is still a challenge. Considering what was presented, our specific objectives are: to explain and inform about terms such as: specific educational needs, attitudinal barriers, ableism, prejudice, discrimination and Universal Design for Learning (UDL); verify what difficulties teachers face when it comes to including students with specific educational needs; propose effective strategies to IFRS-integrated high school teachers, which can contribute to the construction of an inclusive scenario in the classroom, based on the principles of DUA. The problem that this research aims to answer is: How to help teachers create an inclusive scenario in IFRS-integrated high school courses? Regarding methodology, this is research with a qualitative approach, of an applied nature. As for the objectives, it is an exploratory research with a case study. Regarding data collection procedures, it is a survey research. This research aims to identify teachers' difficulties in preparing classes to meet inclusive requirements and thus propose an improvement in accessibility for students with specific needs, so that there is an increase in their satisfaction and retention, as well as the quality of inclusive teaching. After collecting and analyzing the data, an educational product will be created in the format of an inclusive educational booklet, which contains effective strategies for building an inclusive scenario in the classroom, with the aim of generating an improvement between teacher and student with specific needs included in IFRS integrated high school courses.
