SUMMARY:

Vine culture is widely cultivated and involves several processes in the
production chain between table grapes and fine grapes, demonstrating its
large-scale production. However, one of the major obstacles to increasing this
production is diseases, especially downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola), which
causes various damages in the sector. In this way, some technologies were
used to monitor these diseases, including sap analyzes were implemented,
through measuring the nutritional contents of plants it was possible to perceive
interactions between nutritional balance and the emergence of pathogens.
Through this perception, the present work aimed to test the sap analysis tool to
anticipate the diagnosis of diseases in grapevine cultivation. The experiment
was carried out in two ways, in 2 areas with 7 treatments (diagrammatic scale
for Plasmopara viticola: 0%, 3%, 6%, 12%, 25%, 50%, 75%) and through
collections of diseased leaves of random shape and healthy leaves, both with 4
repetitions. Each sample consisted of 10 leaves/petioles collected randomly.
Subsequently, the petioles were analyzed using CARDS plant extract analysis,
correlating nutritional contents and incidence/severity of downy mildew in the
vine crop. Obtaining correlation results between disease and nutrition for
calcium and brix in terms of severity (diagrammatic scale) and electrical
conductivity, potassium, calcium and brix in terms of incidence. Given the data
obtained and their respective trends, it is concluded that there was an
interaction between nutrients and the incidence/severity of downy mildew in
vine crops.
