Pink Niagara vineyards for fresh consumption are usually cultivated under plastic covers and have a fertigation system. These practices alter the dynamics of water and nutrient availability in the soil. Therefore, estimating nutritional levels becomes even more important when compared to the conventional system. Horiba's Laquatwin portable meters are microfluidics-based equipment that are easy to handle and offer fast and accurate results. Currently, there are sensors for nitrate (NO3 - ), potassium (K+ ), calcium (Ca++ ), sodium (Na+ ), pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and oxidation/reduction potential. The use of this technology can improve the nutritional estimation of cultivated vines. Through this perception, the present study aimed to verify the relationship/correlation between petiole extract and nutrient levels in leaves, estimated by two methods. The experiment was conducted in protected cultivation areas, which were divided into 25 experimental plots, with four replicates and ten plants per replicate. Three leaves per plant were collected at full flowering, totaling 30 leaves per replicate, which were divided into: 20 petioles for extract analysis and 10 complete leaves for wet chemistry and Vis-NIR spectroscopy. In addition, productivity was estimated by counting bunches and harvesting three bunches from five plants of each replicate. The prediction models of leaf nutrient concentration will be calibrated using the multivariate statistical regression method by PLSR. The model calibration process will be implemented in the R programming language, by the ‘caret’ package.
