PAGES: 65
BIG AREA: Outra
AREA: Multidisciplinar
SUMMARY:

This research project focuses on female entrepreneurship in the wine industry, with an emphasis on the challenges faced, the motivations that drive women to undertake business ventures, and the strategies adopted to consolidate enterprises in a historically male-dominated sector. The increasing participation of women in the grape and wine production chain has been reshaping management models, production practices, and ways of engaging with the territory and consumers, revealing a movement of economic, social, and symbolic transformation. However, this participation is still marked by structural barriers, such as limited access to credit, low representation in support networks, and the burden of the double workload. This research proposes a theoretical-empirical, qualitative approach divided into two phases: (i) a systematic review of national and international literature on female entrepreneurship in the wine sector, and (ii) a multiple case study with women entrepreneurs operating in wineries in the southern region of Brazil. In addition to semi-structured interviews, the Design Science Research (DSR) method will be used to develop an applied artifact — namely, a business manual adapted to the reality of female wine entrepreneurs, with a focus on strengthening women's leadership in new ventures. Expected outcomes include the systematization of entrepreneurial best practices, the development of practical guidelines for new businesses, and the production of inputs for public policies to promote female entrepreneurship. The study aims to expand understanding of the role of women in renewing the wine sector and to contribute to a fairer, more inclusive, and adaptable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
