Teaching by pedagogues in IFRS bachelor's degree courses: resonances in the training of future Basic education teachers
Pedagogue. Teaching. Initial teacher training. Federal Institute.
The research investigates the understanding of IFRS pedagogues about their teaching role in the training of future Basic Education teachers. With analytical inspiration from research in the field of teacher training (Imbernón, 2011; Tardif, 2014; Nóvoa, 2022; Freire, 1996), this investigation aims to describe the conceptions of training and teaching presented by IFRS pedagogues who teach in undergraduate courses in an area different from their initial training, and to analyze how these conceptions are perceived by these teachers in the teaching practice they carry out in this context. With this, we seek to answer the following questions: What is the profile of the pedagogue teacher at IFRS? How does he/she understand the training of Basic Education teachers in relation to the teaching he/she develops in undergraduate courses in an area different from his/her own? What resonances does he/she perceive in the training of these future professionals? These questions make up the research problem described by: What formative specificities, originating from the teaching developed by pedagogues in undergraduate courses in an area other than Pedagogy, constitute the future Basic Education teacher? Thus, in the analytical exercise provided by this research, we intend to show some of the formative specificities that are the responsibility of the pedagogue who develops teaching in undergraduate courses at IFRS, analyzing how these specificities are perceived by them in the teaching constitution of Basic Education. This is because it is understood that teacher training goes beyond knowledge of a specific discipline, but encompasses different knowledge related to teaching and teaching and learning processes in Basic Education. To address the research problem, initially, contact was made with the IFRS Pro-Rectory of Education and the coordinators of the IFRS undergraduate courses, in order to establish an initial channel of communication and establish the partnership necessary for the development of the project, as well as to obtain information about the courses offered and the number of pedagogues who teach in them. Subsequently, with the authorization of the course coordinators, an invitation was made to the pedagogues, via institutional email, so that they could participate in the research, answering an online questionnaire on Google Forms, with structured questions (open and closed), without mandatory configuration, about their training, experiences and teaching in the IFRS undergraduate courses. At the same time that the empirical material was produced, studies were conducted on the theoretical contributions presented in the bibliography. The material produced in the research will be organized, described and analyzed considering the theories indicated and, from it, an educational product will be constructed to be validated and made available free of charge. The results will be shared at events promoted by IFRS and published in journals in the area of Education.
